If You Can't Read it, You Shouldn't Eat it!

The TWO MAJOR rules when RE-learning nutrition and creating a healthy lifestyle.

Nutrition plays a huge role in running, fueling, and healing the body.

But Most of us are stuck in the mal-adaptive patterns/ rules passed down from our early upbringing. Sometimes it’s ancestrally and sometimes it was just means to survive. Most importantly, we don’t need to stay there and we definitely don't need to teach future generations those same false truths. Ignorance is not bliss. It is millions in medical expenses, years in agony, and totally not worth it.

There are 2 main rules when RE-Learning how to eat right.

Rule #1: if you can’t read it, you shouldn’t eat it.

What does that mean?

It time to forget everything you think you may about food and nutrition and learn it all over again. It’s the only way that we can heal our bodies and teach future generations the right way to fuel their bodies. Forget what you think you know about the nutrition labels on the back of food items. Forget everything you may think you know of the words “carbs”, “fat”, and “proteins”. From now on, your focus will shift from the pretty pictures or words on the packaging or even the nutrition label. Now you will focus on the ingredients. What’s it made from? Where did it come From? What did they put in it? Can I read them all? Do I know what they all mean? Are there too many ingredients? ….. if you can’t read it, then you shouldn't eat it.

For example :

M&Ms vs. Little Secrets

Chips Ahoy vs. Enjoy Life

Kraft Mac cheese v. Aunt Annie’s or Daiyas

Rule #2: After you’ve read the ingredients, ask yourself “Are these ingredients grown from plant earth? Or did it come from chemicals or processed in a lab ? “

Labs are great for research, medicine, or watching microbes grow, but your food should definitely NOT come from one. everything that grown from this earth is made for us and has a purpose. We are creatures growing on this planet just like all the other plants and animals around the world.  If it grows from earth, then it very likely has its own set of vitamins, nutrients, and healing properties that can be beneficial to your body. If it’s chemically made or grown in a lab, are you helping your body or hurting it? Our bodies don’t know how to process chemicals. It automatically goes into fight or flight mode , begins to store fat, and create an inflammatory response. Basically, the body is screaming “foreign body ! All guards up. we are being attached !”There is tons of scientific research that directly correlates many of these chemicals in our processed foods  with an assortment of most debilitating diseases (including cancer, autoimmune disease, diabetes, anxiety disorders, attention deficits, and so much more.) These chemicals are directly alternating the brain and body chemistry (including increasing stress hormones) and creating an addiction to these chemicals in the food. And these chemicals were found to be more addictive than heroine !
